Meeting Your Attacker (Radio Interview — click to listen)
Jon Wilson brought his experience in facilitating dialogues between victims/survivors and offenders in crimes of severe violence to a radio conversation on Dallas-based KERA’s “Think” program. The guest was Brad Pearson who, in 2006, was walking to his car in West Philadelphia when three armed men robbed him at gunpoint, kidnapped him, and threatened his life. Brad wrote an essay about it for Philadelphia magazine.
In this hour Pearson talked about what it’s like to think he might be killed and how it felt to be able to finally ask the men about why they chose him. Jon Wilson talked about victim-centered victim offender dialogue, and how important it is for victims to be heard.
